Cynthia at Friends of the Chicago River has confirmed May 12, 2012 as River Day! Congratulations to all those who participated in 20 years of Chicago River Day.

There will be opportunities for interested persons and groups to volunteer and help out on River Day this year. Please call or email Friends of the Chicago River for more information.

Thank you to Cynthia Fox for your dedication to our river. What has been accomplished are positive differences to the whole Chicago Metro area’s ecology and recreation.

As recently as 35 years ago and personal video was 1/2" reel to reel video . This was prior to Betamax and VHS formats. Today this video cannot be viewed.

Does anyone know who can transfer this format onto hard drive or DVD. If someone knows who can help with this task, please reply.

Thank you in advance,

Each berry contains 1 - 5 seeds which if planted will produce a plant with a single leaf the next year. 3 - 4 seasons are required for the mature plant to produce a single hooded flower and berry fruit.

Warning, do not eat this plant or it's friut, as it is posionous if ingested, containing oxalic acid.
